Calling all reviewers, bloggers, and authors

We’re currently in the process of trying to bulk up our content output on the site itself.

This is what we’re looking for:

1) People who are willing to write reviews for our stories. As with any business, we want to get the word out on our product. We would like to find people who are willing to read our stories and post about them on their website. If you have a blog, or want to have a blog, where you review any and all stories, please let us know. We’d love to have ongoing relationships with people who are willing to read these shorts once a month and let us know what you genuinely think through their websites. It’s good for us, it’s good for our readers, it’s good for you, and it’s good for our authors, which, at the end of the day, is honestly the most important thing.

2) We’re looking for bloggers, or writers who have interesting or unique ideas about books, art, literature, or anything else that want to get their name out there. Right now we make next to nothing from the ads on our site, but if we had people who wanted to write content on a consistent basis we could really build something. Our vision for the site is that it will be a place that can inform and encourage not just the writing of quality books and stories, but all other forms of culture. Have an opinion about the new A Song of Fire and Ice book that doesn’t finish the already created story? Shoot us an email. Want to get your voice heard about the new season of Doctor Who? Shoot us an email. Want to have your opinions on self-publishing versus traditional publishing that you want to put out into the world? Send it to us. Or if you just want to have somewhere to rant about bad or  good art shoot us an email. We want to make this a big part of what we do, and we want you to help make it what you’d like it to be.

3) Reviews of other people’s work. If you would like to write genuine reviews about Books, Movies, Television, Video Games, Art galleries, dance, or anything, let us know. We’d love to work with you.
Additionally we’d like to be doing reviews of not just new media, but also old media. If you’ve read Siddhartha for the first, or one millionth time and want to voice your opinion, then we’d love to hear from you. Or really, anything.
We’d like to do consistent reviews, and if you’d like a platform to do that, we want to build our site to accommodate for reviewing media and culture of all kinds, that includes indie, big time, or any kind of creator to have an honest chance at having work their work reviewed. For free. In a platform that will never, ever, bullshit you just to get numbers, or bulster our ad revenue. Again, we aren’t making much right now, but we would like to turn that into something that can get authors, reviewers, our own staff, paid. With real money.

Why does all this matter? Well, we’re trying to build a site that shows off not just books, or short stories, but also discusses art and culture of all kinds, and we want to build a community of people who also want to do this with us. We’re a small team of four part-time people, and we’d like that to continue to grow. We also want to put the spotlight on small time creators and artists, and one of the simplest ways to do that is get their name out there.

All of this is to say we want to hear from you. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, or if you have another hairbrained idea then shoot us an email at shorts@onyxneon.com, because we want to hear from you.

Thanks so much for reading, and spread the words, my friends, not just for the four us that do this, but also for the authors.
